Special Guest Speaker Veenu McCarter presenting "Heart of Friends". Ms. McCarter has over 10 years of experience working with children on the spectrum as both an ABA and Floor Time therapist. She now coaches for families and assist them with knowing different strategies to get results that they want. She has developed a tool called the "heart of friends" which assists kids with knowing 1st what a "friend" is...Then after that, how to connect them to socializing.

Tickets in advance are $15 and on the Day of is $20. Pre-Registration is at 9am, Kick stands up at 1030am. We will be back by Noon and all paid riders will receive a FREE BBQ plate. There will be many prizes including a 50/50 raffle and door prizes. Plenty of fun, food, and games for the kiddos. More Info: The NC Chapter of Surfers Healing is sponsoring the 2nd Annual Autism Awareness Weekend at the Wrightsville Beach Park, in honor of World Autism Awareness Day and April being Autism Awareness month. The intent of this weekend is to bring the community together for Celebration, Awareness, Inclusion, and Fun for all. It will be a weekend of enjoyment, while at the same time, educational for others in the community, bringing more awareness to light! Local agencies and other non-profits will be available to answer questions and offer families useful information. There will be activities for all to participate in. The Wrightsville Beach Water and Safety Patrol will also be on hand to answer questions and discuss water safety.

| November 14, 2009 | November 14, 2009-Pageant day. Interview times will be based on the number of contestants in the pageant. In the event there is a large turn-out, two sets of judges may be used or the pageant competition may need to be split. All interviews will be held earlier in the day on the day of the pageant. Time and location information will be provided to you no later than November 7, 2009. If it is determined that splitting the pageant is necessary due to the total number of contestants the pageant may begin at an earlier time for the younger divisions. We will decide if splitting the pageant is necessary as soon as participation response is assessed. The pageant is scheduled to begin at 6:00pm. |
November 13, 2009 | November 13, 2009- Deadline to turn in all monies raised through spirit ticket sales. Monies for spirit tickets sales will be taken on October 17, October 24 and November 4th as well. It is important to turn money in for spirit sales as you collect, especially if you have checks. We will need to deposit checks and have them clear in order for you to receive credit for the sales. The last day we can accept checks will be November 9, 2009. Checks can be made to Believe in Myself Pageants. If you receive a check after this date please bring it to the office, so we can go to the bank and get it cashed no later than 4:00pm on the 13th. Advance ticket sales money is due and tickets that have not been sold will need to be turned in. Rehearsal for pageant. Rehearsal will begin at 6:00pm. Contestants will need to be at White Oak High School no later than 5:30 pm. If you have money to turn in, please arrive by 5:15 pm. Opening number will be rehearsed, which will consist of each contestant walking on stage and announcing themselves or being announced. Contestants will practice each phase of the Casual Wear competition and Evening Wear competition. If you are not participating in Talent you will be able to leave. Those who are participating in talent will have the opportunity to practice their Talent performance on stage. |
